MY RUIN Announce New Rhythm Section, Plan New CD Release

July 6, 2005

MY RUIN, the Los Angeles-based band fronted by ex-TURA SATANA singer Tairrie B., will release their new album, "The Brutal Language", on September 27 via their own label imprint, Rovena Recordings.

"We've been discussing the idea of our own label for a while now and we were made an offer we couldn't refuse," Tarrie said in a press release. "With our new imprint we will have complete control and we will own our music which means it can't be re-packaged and re-released again and again without our knowledge or consent like our first two albums. We will be making all the creative and business decisions with our distribution company and they totally believe in our band and our vision. We've always been a DIY [do-it-yourself] band so this makes sense for us on many levels."

MY RUIN have also announced the addition of bassist Chris Lisee and drummer Jason Brunk to the group's ranks. Lisee and Brunk joined the band following the completion of the recording sessions for "The Brutal Language", which was laid down in its entirety by Tairrie and guitarist/main songwriter Mick Murphy.

"Mick has always been the main songwriter and driving musical director in the band," stated Tarrie. "Although we never expected we would have to record our album with just the two of us after our former members [drummer Yael and bassist Johnny Chow] decided to leave the band abruptly in February, we knew we could do it, and we did. Mick produced the album and played all the guitar, bass and drum parts. There was no way we were about to let what happened end our band."

"After completing the recording, finding the right people to be a part of MY RUIN was something we did very low-key and privately," Tairrie said of the search for the group's new members. Added Murphy: "We were both a little gun-shy and not in a rush to just fill the rhythm section. A friend from a band we had toured with last year (SOIL) suggested we meet with bass player Chris Lisee, whom I had met and spoken with a few times in the past. He was very familiar with the band from seeing us play live many times, and we felt a connection with Chris immediately, and the feeling was mutual. Chris brings a positive energy to MY RUIN and we feel like we’ve known him forever. He understands where we're coming from musically and where we want to go. He's a tight player with a great tone and a powerful stage presence.

"Chris suggested we audition his friend and former bandmate, Jason Brunk, who we also happened to know from our past and were really excited about. Jason has a hard-hitting, thunderous style of drumming which gives the music a huge live sound.

"We knew after our first rehearsal that both Jason and Chris were what were looking for to complete the next era of MY RUIN. It's less drama and a lot more fun these days. It's nice working with people we can relate to on both the personal and musical side of things. It has always been about the music first and I think our new album speaks for itself and is a reflection of the chemistry and evolution of the band. Yes, Tairrie is very outspoken and her reputation often precedes her, but this is rock 'n' roll — it ain't Sunday school."

MY RUIN will be playing a few one-off shows in July with friends and Nuclear Blast recording artists BLEED THE SKY as they finish mixing their new album with two-time Grammy Award-winning producer and longtime friend Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER, GOATSNAKE, MARILYN MANSON) at Studio 606 West. The band then plan on hitting the road again in August and September with BLEED THE SKY for "The Double Shot of Rock Tour", presented by Jagermeister.

MY RUIN have posted two full-length songs from "The Brutal Language" on their MySpace.com jukebox and on the band's official web site, www.myruin.com.
